GENESIS HAS REFRESHED THE GV70 WITH A LIGHT FACELIFT AND REVISED CABIN
Genesis has refreshed its GV70 SUV for the first time since its launch in 2020 with many small but significant changes, both inside and out.
Let’s start with the exterior which, despite looking identical at first glance, has seen some change. Notice the new dual-weave mesh grille out front? How about the new skid plate beneath it? If you missed those, you surely managed to spot the new 19in alloys… right?
Less obvious changes include new lighting tech incorporated into the two-pronged front headlamps, while the indicator signals at the rear have been repositioned to supposedly improve visibility for other road users.
Genesis has also given the cabin some attention - a giant 27in OLED display, for instance, now combines the driving cluster and infotainment hub into a single horizontal layout. The number of mood lamps for ambient lighting has also been increased, because you can never have enough mood lighting, and the climate controls are now mostly touch-based. A new two-tone steering wheel and more intricate stitching than before rounds off the interior changes. It’s terribly luxurious in there.
No word on changes to the powertrains as yet, so for now we’ll assume the GV70 will still be offered with either the 2.2/2.5-litre four-pot or 3.5-litre V6 engines, producing anywhere from 209 to 380bhp. Alternatively, there’s the GV70 Electrified, which uses a dual electric motor setup to put out 483bhp.
The new GV70 will debut in Korea next month before sailing for the rest of the globe soon after. Thoughts on the refresh, folks?
